Mysteriis Page 87 [cracked]: Des Vermis

Created by author in his 1935 short story "The Shambler from the Stars," the book was later adopted by H.P. Lovecraft into his own works. It is traditionally attributed to Ludwig Prinn , a 16th-century alchemist and necromancer who claimed to have survived for centuries before being burned at the stake in Brussels.

(Note: In a twist of dark irony, the film props often utilized a corrupted version of the Catholic Sanctus prayer, implying that the demon mocks holy scripture to perform its unholy miracles.)

Page 87 of Des Vermis Mysteriis serves as a grim reminder of the central tenet of cosmic horror: To reverse it is to invite a horror far worse than the grave.

Since Des Vermis Mysteriis (Mysteries of the Worm) is a fictional grimoire created by Robert Bloch (and later popularized by H.P. Lovecraft and the Evil Dead franchise), there is no canonical "Page 87" in a real-world academic sense.
