The protagonist, Rio (理有), is a small, harmless dog—an omnivore. However, upon transferring to a high school dominated by dangerous carnivores, his older brother advises him to pose as a wolf to ensure his safety.

The little dog does not hesitate. He knows the drill. He barks. He barks with the same ferocity he used for the falling leaf, the same pitch he used to mock the neighbor’s cat. He expects the master to come. He expects the lights to turn on. He expects the wolf to flee.
