"Then I fly into the core of the downdraft," Callum continued, his voice dropping. "The headwind vanishes, turns into a tailwind. IAS drops drastically. Performance goes. I’m dropping like a stone. And by the time I realise I'm low and slow, I'm hitting the ground."
