In a small village, a washerman owned a thin, tired donkey. One night, the donkey escaped and snuck into a farmer’s cucumber field. He ate to his heart’s content and returned at dawn. This went on for weeks. The donkey grew fat and strong.

These stories often feature animal characters—like the clever rabbit or the greedy fox—to demonstrate practical wisdom ( Neethi ) and the consequences of one's actions.
