Historically, the lives and stories of trans and gender-nonconforming people have been suppressed or erased. Transtaken justice seeks to unearth these narratives, positioning the community as the rightful owners of their own histories and futures. It moves beyond the traditional "rights-based" approach, which often asks for permission from existing power structures, and instead demands a restructuring of society that honors the inherent dignity of gender diversity.
