Anna Ralphs Christmas (2026 Update)
Ella Hunt (who plays Anna) anchors the film perfectly. She has a melancholic, "Amélie-esque" charm that makes her instantly likeable. Her singing voice is lovely, and she manages the difficult tonal shift from singing about dreams to smashing a zombie’s head in with a seesaw with impressive ease.
The film starts strong and ends strong, but the middle section drags slightly. Once the novelty of the "singing zombies" wears off, the plot becomes a fairly standard "get from point A to point B" survival story. Some of the musical numbers in the middle, while good, halt the momentum of the survival tension. anna ralphs christmas
"Anna and the Apocalypse" is a genre-bending experiment that sounds like a mad-lib: it is a high-school zombie musical set during Christmas. The story follows Anna, a teenager stuck in a dead-end town, dreaming of escaping her life. On the morning she decides to leave, she discovers that the zombie apocalypse has descended upon her small Scottish hamlet. She and her friends must sing, dance, and fight their way across town to save their loved ones holed up in the high school. Ella Hunt (who plays Anna) anchors the film perfectly
