Sometimes the VHDX file itself is fine, but the file system within it is corrupted. You can attempt to fix this by mounting the disk directly to the host operating system. Right-click the Start button and select "Disk Management." Go to Action > Attach VHD. Browse to your VHDX file and click OK.
