Baba Zorawar Singh (9) and Baba Fateh Singh (7) were captured alongside their grandmother, Mata Gujri Ji. After refusing to renounce their faith and convert to Islam, the younger sons were bricked alive by the order of Wazir Khan, the Governor of Sirhind.

His most revolutionary act, however, was social. He abolished the Zamindari system. He tore up the deeds of the landlords and distributed the land directly to the tillers—the farmers who had been enslaved by the system for centuries.
