The Epson L3250 is an EcoTank printer. During printing and cleaning cycles, ink is flushed into a waste ink pad located at the bottom of the printer. To prevent overflow, Epson programs a counter that estimates when these pads are full. Once the limit is reached, the printer stops working and displays the error: "The printer's ink pads are at the end of their service life."

The software works perfectly, but the user must be responsible. If you reset the counter 2 or 3 times without ever addressing the physical ink inside the pads, you are inviting a mess.
