Ftp As Network Drive Windows 11 — Map

Windows 11 removed the native “Map network drive” option for FTP (unlike Windows 10/7). You can’t just use File Explorer directly without extra steps.

Type your server address in the box. It should look like this: ftp://://example.com or ftp://192.168.1.1 . Click Next . Log In: If the server is public, check Log on anonymously . If it’s private, uncheck it and enter your User name . map ftp as network drive windows 11

Name the shortcut (e.g., "Company FTP") and click Finish . Windows will ask for your password upon the first connection. 🚀 Method 2: Map to a Drive Letter (Third-Party) Windows 11 removed the native “Map network drive”

Right-click on a blank space in the main window and select Add a network location . It should look like this: ftp://://example

Navigating a complex folder structure in a web-based FTP client is slow. In Windows 11, once the drive is mapped, you can use the File Explorer search bar to look for files on the server using Windows Indexing (though speed depends on your connection). You can sort by date modified, type, or size just like a local folder.
