This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the philosophical project of Hans Blumenberg, one of the most significant German thinkers of the post-war era. It explores his central concepts, including the "legitimacy of the modern age," "metaphorology," and the "work on myth." By challenging the narrative that the modern era is merely a secularized version of Christian theology, Blumenberg established an anthropological framework centered on the "absolutism of reality" and the human necessity of significance ( Bedeutsamkeit ).
