Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse is a CGI-animated web series that completely redefined the Barbie franchise . Airing from 2012 to 2015, the show departed from traditional, straightforward children’s narratives in favor of a satirical, meta-humor style that appealed to both kids and adults. Set in a plastic version of Malibu, the series portrays Barbie and her friends as actual dolls who are fully aware of their toy nature, complete with squeaky joints and sticker-based furniture.
