The story revolves around Lee Jung-soo (played by Lee Seung-gi), a former police officer who becomes a "city hunter" - a private investigator who solves crimes and fights against corruption in Seoul. Jung-soo's life takes a dramatic turn when he saves Cha Do-jin (played by Kim Jae-joong), a prosecutor, from an assassination attempt. As a token of gratitude, Cha Do-jin helps Jung-soo become a city hunter.
