Roger takes Claire to the Culloden memorial graveyard. He shows her a specific stone: “James Fraser, Fraser of Lovat’s regiment. Died April 16, 1746.”

That night, Claire tells Brianna everything. Brianna is furious and disbelieving, calling her mother insane. But Roger, who has researched the records, confirms the impossible: Claire’s name appears as a healer in 18th-century hospital records. Brianna finally asks, “Who is my real father?” Claire answers: “James Fraser. And he was a Highlander. And he was a smuggler. And he was a traitor. And he was the bravest man I ever knew.”

Claire meets with (Richard Rankin), the grown son of Reverend Wakefield. She asks Roger to help her find evidence of what happened to the Jacobite soldiers after the Battle of Culloden.
