In the early days of the internet, advertisements were simple, static banners. Today, they have evolved into a pervasive, often intrusive force. Pop-ups, autoplay videos, trackers that follow you from site to site, and ads that consume more data than the article itself have become the norm. In response, millions of users have installed ad blockers—software that removes or alters a website’s advertising content. While ad blockers are a powerful tool for reclaiming user experience and privacy, they represent a double-edged sword.
