Losing access to your Facebook account can be a stressful experience, whether it's due to a forgotten password, a compromised login, or losing access to your registered email or phone number. Facebook provides a dedicated tool at facebook.com/login/identify (often shortened to "www facebook com identify") to help users locate and recover their profiles.

If the email or phone number doesn't work, try searching by your full name or your Facebook username (your personalized URL).

A profile loaded on the left screen. The woman in the profile picture was laughing, holding a glass of wine, standing on a boat. She looked vibrant, full of life. She looked nothing like the hollow shell sitting in front of Elias, but the bone structure was identical.

You cannot use this tool to see private information, reset passwords, or access accounts that do not belong to you. Attempting to do so violates Facebook’s terms and may be a crime.

"Try it with a capital B," she hissed. "BlueScrubs0998."

Elias selected it. He needed the password. He looked at her. "If you can recall anything about this Sarah Jenkins, now is the time. Or if you remember a password."

Have a Facebook friend visit your profile's "About" section to see what email or phone number is listed there. They can also send you your username from the URL bar.
