Social media platforms, messaging apps, and online forums have become essential tools for connecting with others, sharing ideas, and exchanging information. In Albania, a country with a rich cultural heritage and a growing online community, online communication has given birth to a new phenomenon: Chat Shqiptar (Albanian Chat). Data was collected from three public Albanian Facebook groups and two Telegram rooms (total N ~ 500 participants) between January–March 2026. A combination of discourse analysis and a self-report survey (n=87) on language attitudes was employed.
