Due to the End of Mainstream Support for Windows 8.1 (ended January 9, 2018) and the approaching End of Extended Support (January 10, 2023), the most viable and secure path for users currently running unactivated or activated builds is to migrate to a supported OS (Windows 10/11) rather than attempting to force activation on an obsolete and vulnerable platform.
