It allows for custom doses that are not pre-marked on the pen’s dial. Important Considerations for the Click Method Insert the needle into your abdomen or thigh
Instead of turning the selector to the labeled 0.25 or 0.5, turn it slowly. Listen. Click. Click. Click. Count each one. For a 0.75 mg dose, you need 54 clicks. Turn until you hear the 54th click. The display will now show a number that is not 0.75 – it will likely show between 0.5 and 1.0, but not exactly. Do not trust the number window; trust your count. Continue holding for 6 seconds
You cannot dial 36 clicks (0.5 mg) plus another 18 clicks (0.25 mg) to get 54 clicks (0.75 mg) in two separate injections on the same day. Why? Because the second injection will be from the same pen, which now has less liquid. But worse: you risk double-dosing if you forget. Always do a single count to your target.
If the selector is turned too far, it can usually be turned back to zero and the count restarted.
Attach a new NovoFine Plus needle. Remove the inner and outer caps. Perform an "air shot" (flow check) by dialing to the flow check symbol (two small dots) and pressing the button. You should see a tiny drop of liquid. This removes air bubbles.
