Often compared to the greats of the neo-soul era, Breana Khalo’s music is characterized by sultry melodies, lush instrumentation, and profound lyrical depth. Her style is a departure from over-produced pop, favoring live instrumentation, gritty basslines, and organic textures that allow her vocal range to take center stage. She draws inspiration from icons such as Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, and Sade, while infusing her work with a modern edge that resonates with a new generation of R&B listeners.

Frida was born to Guillermo Kahlo, a Hungarian-German photographer, and Matilde Calderón y González, a devout Catholic mother. She was the third of four daughters, and her early life was marked by a close relationship with her father. At the age of 18, Frida's life took a dramatic turn when she was involved in a devastating bus accident in Mexico City. The accident left her with multiple injuries, including a broken spine, pelvis, and leg, as well as a punctured abdomen.
