Change App Install Location Android

There are apps on the Google Play Store (like "AppMgr III" or "Link2SD") that help manage app locations.

Tap the three-dot menu (top-right) and select or Format as internal . Choose Format another way or Adoptable storage . Follow the prompts to "Move content" now or later.

If you have a PC and want to force the phone to install new apps to the SD card by default (on older Android versions), you can use Android Debug Bridge (ADB).

Changing where your Android apps live can be a bit of a maze since Google and many phone manufacturers (like Samsung) have made it harder to do in recent years. By default, apps almost always land in your internal storage first.
