The Kad network uses a distributed hash table (DHT) to store and retrieve files. When a user searches for a file on the eMule network, their node sends a query to other nodes on the network, which respond with information about the file, including its location and availability. The node that is searching for the file can then use this information to download the file from one or more nodes that have it. emule kad
