If the computer cannot boot properly due to a recent update, the uninstall must be performed via the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE).

After restarting, Windows will revert to the previous state. Note that Windows may try to reinstall the update automatically. To prevent that temporarily, you can pause updates for up to 5 weeks in Settings → Windows Update → Pause updates.
